It has already been a week since my schizo post lol, but i guess the routine idea i had worked, because it has been a week and i stuck with my routine! Also, promised my roommate to go to the gym today, and i did go! I did 15 minutes of treadmill again on a 3.5 incline with a 4.5km speed. I hit 1.07 km again. I really want to hit 1.5km and AI said that i have to walk 6km/h to hit that. So next time i will 4 incline with 5km, so i can gradually increase it to get to 6.
Here is a 5 minute leg stretch video i found last week that i want to share:
It has been a week now since i have researched how to stick to a routine etc etc. It doesn't feel like it has been a week, more like 4 days. I guess my life isn't eventful enough for me to realize how much time has passed. Or maybe it is just the ADHD.
The routine thing i came up with (and AI helped me with) (have to credit AI here cause it really helped me brainstorm) really helps. I have a small booklet that i check the dates off whenever i have done the thing i set out to do. I only have a day off on Sunday, which helps, because i don't think i could go on and on doing it every day forever. I can always switch days, but for now Sunday is my "off" day. For now i have "morning routine" followed by "walking dog". Even when i don't want to walk the dog i still feel bad... guilty?... when i don't do it immediately after getting ready. It's like i have more of an urge, or an impulse, now to do those two things i set out to do. I am done with getting ready in the morning? I have brushed my teeth, washed my face, showered, put on clean clothes etc. i walk the dog. It is so simple, yet so effective. Tomorrow i will add stretch to it. I found this really nice stretch video for runners that i did last time before i went to the gym. I will link it here (see above).
It is only 5 minutes, but very effective. I really felt a deep stretch when i did this. Normally i kind of fumble around and stretch for like 15-20 minutes before i go to the gym which i realized adds to my anxiety. So i went looking for a short stretch routine. I first looked up "leg stretches" on Youtube which was a mistake. Just women showing off their bodies in the thumbnails in weird poses. I just wanted a simple stretch routine so i thought to myself "what is a manly sport"? As much as running isn't a manly sport... i can't remember any instance that running has ever been sexualized in the (social) media (except for Pamela Anderson running on the beach type of stuff haha). So i looked up running stretches and that was one of the first things to pop up; not sexualized and it works! Awesome!
In my previous post i mentioned i had to get up early for an appointment. I did get up early, but the appointment got cancelled. I did get up though! I ate oatmeal, hung out with my dog, and got ready. After that i started writing here because i was waiting for my meds to kick in and i walked my dog. It was raining. I was excited to get home and get dressed cause i was like "omg no one will be at the gym cause it is raining!" but then when i got dressed for the gym, the rain stopped. Rip. To distract myself from my anxiety i ironed on one of the patches i bought on my new gym bag. I added two pins and it looks really cute so far. I will post a picture! I then packed my bag for the gym, stretched, and went to the gym; happy and full of anxiety. I did 15 minutes of treadmill again on a 3.5 incline with a 4.5km speed. I hit 1.07 km again. I really want to hit 1.5km and AI said that i have to walk 6km/h to hit that. So next time i will 4 incline with 5km, so i can gradually increase it.
I went to the gym around 14.25h and it was really crowded on the street with cars cause there is a school nearby and i guess school was over? Usually school isn't over here until 3 but it is Wednesday and school is over earlier on Wednesday, so i just need to keep that in mind. It was less crowded than last time i felt. There was another girl/woman doing leg day and there were maybe a handful of guys working out, so Wednesday afternoon seems like a good day to go. I also kind of got myself to go to the gym by promising myself a croissant and an energy drink when i come back, so i got those when i got home from the gym hehe. I haven't done a post-workout stretch, so i want to do that now. Gonna try another stretch from that same channel.
