Gym & moving out ramblings

I went to the gym today and i'm so happy i did! I first wanted to go around 12, but anxiety got me. So i started talking to AI and that helped a little. I think i ended up going around 1, and there were only old(er) people at the gym! It was only once i wanted to leave (around 2) that younger people came in. That also made it nicer. I also feel better. I did have to go lower on weights with everything. I felt so weak lol. When i first started doing the adductors i felt a sharp pain so i immediately went down in weight and kept that energy throughout all my sets. I feel my glutes and quads burning, so i guess i did something right. Someone on Youtube (i think it was Jeff Nippard?) suggested to do leg curls before doing leg press/squats to warm up the knees, and i did that today and i did notice that it was more comfortable to do the leg press, so im keeping that one in.

  • 5 min elliptical
  • Adductor 3x12 40kg
  • Leg curls 4x12 30kg
  • Sitting leg press 4x12 (70kg)
  • Abductor 3x12 45kg
  • Leg extension 3x12 (40kg)

I also had to do another set on the leg curls cause there was a woman wandering around the gym doing all the machines on the lowest weight. I think it was her first time at the gym and she had one of those intro appointments or something. Idk if the trainer made her do that or not, but it was just odd. But at least i realized she only did one set on all the machines she went on, so i knew that the minute i was done with my 4th set she would be done, and i was right! I also first didn't want to do the leg extensions, but i just forced myself to do them, and im happy i did. Without my warmup my entire workout was exactly 1 hour according to my Garmin, but ofc all the data went away again so i think i will have to keep the timer running as i bike home next time and then stop so i can see the data lol. Or just get my old phone out of the closet and use that for my Garmin eh.

Gym? Hurt! Moving~

I wanted to go to the gym today cause i felt motivated. I guess cause it's Monday and then i always have more motivation lol. I also have new motivation in general cause my grandparents want to have a party in September for their wedding anniversary (60 years wtf), and even though no one notable will be there, i still want to look good. I kind of didn't feel like going, but i still got dressed and stuff, but then i ended up not going cause my phone cable was broken, so i couldn't charge my phone. I even kept trying to tell myself that i can do only 3 machines and it will be fine, which helps me to go. I put all this mental strain in making myself go and i was ready and ugh :( Anyways, i ended up doing some stuff at home instead:

  • 10 minute stretch
  • 1x15 squat with bar
  • 1x15 RDL with bar
  • 1x15 hip thrusts with bar
  • 1x12 bulgarian split squats with dumbbell
As you can see, i barely used any weights. I warmed up pretty well and the squats with the bar went well too, but the minute i stopped my quads and glutes started cramping up. I started walking around but that made it feel worse so i just sat down for a little bit. I waited about 5 minutes and then did a body squat but it still didn't feel good so i did an RDL instead. For some reason my back started hurting when i did that so i guess my form is now shit too lol. So then i was like i will just do every single thing i normally do at home with only the bar (for the bulgarians i used an empty dumbbell) and call it a day. I will just go to the gym tomorrow instead.

Overall, i've been pretty busy with the moving of my friend. His colleague gave him some furniture so he almost has everything now except for some small things and a fridge/freezer. We have to clean the entire house and the kitchen is so fucking rancid omg. I think they fried a lot and they never cleaned the kitchen, ever. The floors are pretty clean, but that's because i think they put carpet everywhere. Only in the living room and one bed room was there still carpet left over. They also attached the carpet horribly. In the hallway there are loose nails everywhere and there was some glue residue. Anyways, it is at least nice that the floors are in perfect condition. I also checked the place and apparently they are going to demolish that entire neighborhood, so that's why it is for temporary rental. It is stupid though, cause the 3rd party rental place said we had to leave the house in the condition it was delivered to my friend, so if he makes holes in the walls he has to fill them up. Which would be stupid to do if they are going to demolish the place anyways, right? I also found out the ACTUAL place it is owned by, and i am thinking of calling them to ask if we can make holes in the walls anyways. Cause some rooms have wallpaper, so we would have to destroy the wallpaper a little bit to drill a hole. If they don't care, and we don't have to fix it when he moves out, then that might be worth it. But that's all for later. Sorry for the ramble.

Leg day routine (2 days)

I wrote out a little plan based on the Willy work-out from my previous post + one of my first posts. I think it will be a lot, and especially in the beginning i will probably die. I might adjust some things here and there, but ultimately this is what i want to work towards. I will start with low weights again and then see how high i can work myself up. Especially doing squats again after having not done them for a while always effs me up lol. So definitely doing a lot of stretching of the adductors etc. is gonna be important. My idea is just to do a workout at home > go to the gym > do workout at home > stretch. That is gonna be it. I hope at one point to be able to do some of these exercises in the gym. Except for RDLs, i will probably always do those at home. 

I then at one point also need to figure out an upper body day and when i want to do that, cause i can feel my upper body becoming weaker. I think i want to figure out a program that mainly focuses on my back and my LATS with a little bit of light bicep work. I did a 1 day a week upper body routine before that served me decently well (the one my personal trainer gave me). I feel like my muscles grew pretty fast especially for only doing it once a week. So i think i can just keep doing that, but then with more of a focus on back/lats. 

Gym break... kind of...

Yesterday i picked up the keys with my roommate for his new place. This week i will be helping him with planning what to do with his house (cleaning, furniture etc.) and helping him move in. I hope by next week he is fully moved in (if everything goes well of course) (and it never does LOL). It is difficult for me now to focus on working out and stuff now that i know my roommate will be gone soon. I am just already excited for the fact that i can workout at home again. This will make it easier to workout on Wednesdays for me at least. And also i can stretch daily again now. That alone already makes me excited lol. I found some amazing stretch videos that are only 10-20 minutes long that i can do daily. 

It has also been harder pushing myself to go to the gym cause i don't have my gym buddy now, which kind of sucks. But eh. Once my roommate is gone i can focus on cleaning up my place, that alone will already make it easier to focus on working out and going to the gym. I am just thinking about how i want to structure my workout days. I already am not at the gym as long as i was with my gym buddy. Especially when i don't warm up i can easily be done at the gym in 45 minutes. Now that i can workout at home i can also do other exercises at home or when i come back from the gym. I still think i want to keep Mondays and Fridays for the gym, maybe even Tuesdays. Since soon i will have something to do on Tuesday afternoon (until 3 at least), so then afterwards i can go to the gym, since i am outside already. I need to get ready for those appointments so maybe Tuesdays will be easier for me to just go then. I guess that is an ADHD thing or something. Or maybe just a normal human thing. If on Monday i just have to walk my dog and i can work at home, i don't have to wear nice clothes or look presentable. If on Tuesday i have my meetings i have to wear nice clothes and look presentable, so when i go to the gym afterwards i will probably feel more confident. So i guess i will do that.

I am also thinking about doing cardio again. Maybe running at night, and also maybe biking to my grandparents at least once or twice a week. It is a 5KM/3mile bike ride there and back so 10km/6miles in total. The ride takes about 20-30 minutes (depending on the wind), and if i do cardio specifically i would probably do it for about 45 minutes to an hour. So it is about the same. And that way i can see my grandparents which is nice. I can also decide to do those bike rides after my meetings on Tuesday, depending on the weather and how i feel. And if i went to the gym on Mondays. So yeah, a lot of options, opportunities, and things to think about lol.

Gym!

Want to go gym today and barely got any sleep cause my upstairs neighbor decided to act like the true trailer trash he is and listen to loud music while his stupid girlfriend of a horse was running around on her heels until 5 in the morning. This is why God did not make me a big burly man; i would strangle so many people, i swear... i only ended up getting 6 hours of sleep. I luckily could sleep in today. The minute i woke up and i didn't hear any sound coming from upstairs i put on loud music and cranked my bass up. I did it in the room that is under his bedroom. I just have no clue if he is actually home or not. The dude is so weird. I also think there is some illegal activity going on in his apartment, but alas~

Last week i went to the gym around 4 and it wasn't that crowded. It was kind of crowded at the "upper body" area, but the leg machines were basically empty. I don't know if i want to go that late today. I might want to go somewhat earlier and just get it over with. I am looking outside right now and the sky is grey and it is windy, so i wonder if it will rain. I am pretty sure it is less crowded when it rains, but i guess we will see...

Celebration?? +Gym

I haven't been to the gym yet, but i just wanted to write that my roommate might have found his own place FINALLY!!! It will be for a proper house and the minimum rent time will be 6 months (after that he can get kicked out any time). But this means that he wont be a bother for me anymore!!! I can finally be free!!! He will probably bother me for the first month or so cause he needs to move and decorate his house and blablabla, but at least i can just exist on my own!!! I am so excited!!!

Chill day!

No gym today. I was first thinking about working out at home, but really don't want to. So, i will just go to the gym tomorrow. It is mainly because tomorrow i have a pretty busy day already; i will be out a lot. So i'd rather have today be my chill~ stay-at-home day. Tomorrow i will first have a meeting of about 1 hour and then after that a meeting of about 1-2 hours. So then after that, i will go to the gym. I also have to figure out what i want to wear. My gym clothes are everywhere and all over the place. I need to sort them again lol. Also, i sleep horribly in the weekend (i think cause of my roommate). I never have deep sleep and i usually wake up once or twice during the night. While during the week, as long as he doesn't wake me up in the morning, i sleep way better.

So today i have to prepare for tomorrow's meetings, probably do laundry, sort my clothes, walk dog, and edit! Hopefully i have time to also just chill heh.

Gym!

Well, so, i just came back from the gym and i had my Garmin stats open and then the watch went to black screen and when i opened it back up the data was gone :'( wth. Welp... i was really not in the mood today to go, but i am happy i went anyways! I had to get up early today for a meeting (i might write about that some time later) and i barely got any sleep last night. I guess because i was nervous subconsciously for the meeting today. It was a big deal to me so... Then i got back home and i was just kind of doing nothing but making up excuses and getting distracted (usually when i dont sleep well my meds dont work that well lol). So i told myself to just do 3 exercises and go home. I actually did 4 and i didn't try to push too hard. My legs are still burning though so that's good! 

  • 7 min treadmill
  • Adductor 3x12 47.5kg
  • Sitting leg press 1x15 60kg, 1x12 70kg, 2x10 80kg
  • Sitting leg press legs high 3x12 80kg
  • Leg extension 1x10 40kg 2x8 45kg 1x17 50kg (myo)
Oh and the abductor machine is still broken!!! I'm so annoyed!!!

Changing it up

I wanted to work-out at home today, but i still have DOMs (even in my butt, woah), so i wont. I will do some stretches tho. There's a heatwave again so that's cool (it's not). I think instead of mon/fri i will just do leg work-out on mon/thu at the gym for now. Or i will make it fluid where i can pick a day that suits me best. I'll see. At the end of the month i will incorporate upper body again (with focus on my back) and i might do 3 leg days, but i think for now the two leg days is fine. I don't want to make the same mistake as last year where i over-train while it's hot, or i make promises to myself i can't keep.
